The Old Cow Shed is in St Ishmael, just above Ferryside. It's a big converted barn that looks out over Carmarthen Bay. The view is the main thing. You can see right across to the Gower.
It sleeps 16, which is a lot of people. There are seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, so nobody should be queuing. It's got a 5 Star rating, but I'd say it's more about the space and the solid conversion than anything overly fancy. It feels sturdy.
The doors are wide and there's a ground floor wet room with grab rails, so it works if someone has mobility issues. The stairs inside are fine, normal sort.
There's a big lawned garden with a patio, which is all yours. You get a BBQ there. Inside, there's a games room with a pool table and a football table, which is useful if the weather turns.
It's a coastal spot. The beach is about half a mile down the lane. The local shop and pub are a mile away in Ferryside. The pub does meals.
For getting out, the Millennium Coastal Path is right there for walking or cycling. Pembrey Country Park is along that way, with a long beach. You're about 30 minutes from Ffos Las racecourse, the Scarlets rugby ground in Llanelli, and the golf course. Kidwelly Castle is a 15-minute drive.
Further out, within an hour, you've got the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Laugharne, and Tenby.
Practical stuff: it's detached, with parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a cot and highchair if needed. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
