The Cart Shed is one of a few cottages converted from old farm buildings here near Ferryside. It’s detached and sleeps three, in two bedrooms. There’s one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating so everything's in good, clean order without being luxurious.
You’ve got your own patio with a garden table and a BBQ. There’s a dishwasher, and bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. Off-road parking is right outside. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
The layout of the place suits three people best. The stairs up to the bedrooms are a fairly standard flight, just to mention it.
It’s a quiet spot. There’s a shared field with a small play area for kids, and a few paths you can take the dogs on. A shop and a pub are about half a mile down the road in Ferryside village. The pub does food.
You can walk down to the estuary and the beach from here. It’s not a huge sandy beach, more of a tidal inlet, but it’s good for a stroll or letting the dogs run. For bigger beaches, you’ll need to drive.
Kidwelly Castle is about ten minutes away by car. Pembrey Country Park, which has a long beach and bike trails, is a similar distance. The Millennium Coastal Path runs along the estuary nearby if you want a long, flat walk or cycle.
Further afield, you can get to the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Laugharne, or the start of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path in under half an hour. Carmarthen is a fifteen-minute drive for bigger supermarkets.
