Laura’s Loft is a first-floor apartment attached to our house in Greetham. It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It has its own front door, but you go up about 12 steps to get in.
It’s a 4 Star place. It’s comfortable and clean, with decent facilities for a week or two. The ceilings are sloped because it’s in the loft, but there’s good headroom. The skylights look out over fields.
The living area is open-plan with a sofa, dining table, and a small fitted kitchen. The bedroom has a double bed under a skylight. The bathroom has a whirlpool bath. There’s a private patio area with a table and a BBQ, and space to store bikes if you bring them.
The Lincolnshire Wolds are right outside the door. It’s an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which essentially means it's good walking country. Quiet lanes, lots of footpaths, and proper hills for round here. You can get maps from the Lincolnshire Wolds website.
Horncastle, the nearest town, is about three miles away. It’s known for antiques, but it’s got a good market, a few supermarkets, and some pubs that do food.
Lincoln is about a 25-minute drive. The cathedral is the main event, but the castle and the old streets up the hill are worth a look. The Lincoln Castle website has opening times.
If you want the coast, it’s roughly half an hour east. Skegness, Mablethorpe, and Sutton-on-Sea are the main ones. Wolds to Waves is a proper cycle route if you’re feeling energetic.
Facilities included: all bedding and towels, washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking. We’ve got a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
