Lion Gate Lodge

Lion Gate Lodge is on the edge of Scrivelsby in Lincolnshire. It was originally a gatehouse from the 1790s, but it's been completely redone inside.

It's detached and sleeps four. Two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, so it works well for two couples or a family. It has a 5 Star rating, which means it's finished to a high standard.

The garden goes all around the lodge. There are two patio areas with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. The main view is straight out over the deer park. You can often see them from the house.

It's a rural spot. There's a shop, pub, and restaurant about a mile and a half away in Horncastle. Horncastle is the main town nearby and has supermarkets and a few antique shops.

For days out, you're about 15 minutes from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby and the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby, which has a Lancaster bomber. Lincoln is about 40 minutes' drive. The cathedral and castle are worth seeing.

To the east, you can get to the coast and Skegness in under an hour. The Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty starts just north of Horncastle, and there are good walking and cycling routes right from the door.

Facilities include the EV charger, a washing machine, dishwasher, and woodburning stove. There's parking on site. Bedding and towels are included, and we can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
