The Kingfisher
The Kingfisher is a shepherd's hut on our land near Woodhall Spa. It's a 15th century farmstead. You get your own hut in a field, with a private garden area and a BBQ.
It sleeps two, one bedroom. It's a 3 Star place, so again, clean and comfortable but not a fancy hotel. You've got a wood-burning stove inside that heats it up nicely. The shower and toilet are in a small en-suite room attached to the back of the hut. It's compact, but it works.
The WiFi is okay for emails, but don't expect to stream films on it. We're rural. The bed is made up for you.
You can bring one dog. There's parking right by the hut.
Woodhall Spa is about ten minutes' drive. It's a nice little town. There's a proper high street with shops, cafes, and a couple of pubs. The Kinema in the Woods is there, which is a cinema with an old-fashioned organ that rises up before the film. The golf course is well known.
You can walk straight out from the hut onto the paths around the Lincolnshire Wolds. Horncastle is close too, maybe fifteen minutes by car, for antiques and that.
If you want a day out, Lincoln is about 25 miles west. The cathedral is worth seeing. The coast, like Skegness, is about an hour's drive east.
