The Parlour is a converted barn. It's on our farm just outside Horsington village. It's quiet here, just fields and the sound of birds. You'll get used to it.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well put together, comfortable. The shower's good. The main room is open plan, so it feels quite spacious for a couple.
You've got your own patio area with a table and chairs. It's enclosed, so it's safe if you bring a dog. We allow one well-behaved pet. The garden looks out over the farmyard.
Inside, it's got underfloor heating. That's nice in the cooler months. There's WiFi, a TV, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The nearest pub for a meal is in Thimbleby, about three miles away. There's a shop about four and a half miles off. For a proper look around, Horncastle is close. It's known for antique shops. Woodhall Spa is the other way, a small town with nice tea rooms and the Kinema in the Woods cinema.
If you want to go further, Lincoln is about a forty minute drive. The cathedral and castle are worth seeing. Skegness and the coast is about the same in the other direction, maybe forty-five minutes. For a walk, the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is on your doorstep. The Lincolnshire Wolds website has routes.
There's a lot of WWII history around here if that's your thing. You can see the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby, or visit the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre at East Kirkby.
The other barns on the farm – The Potting Shed, The Stables, and so on – can be booked together if you're coming with a bigger group.
