Lilac Tree Lodge
Lilac Tree Lodge is at Mercia Marina in Willington. It's a detached lodge right on the water. You've got your own bit of decking and a private jetty over the lake. Sometimes there are ducks about.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is a king with an en-suite shower. The second king room can be made into twins if you ask beforehand. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The main room is open plan. Kitchen, dining area, and living space all together. There's an electric fire for cooler evenings, and doors straight out to the deck. The WiFi is fine. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher.
The marina itself is nice for a stroll. There's a wooden boardwalk, a few shops and places to eat right on the water. You can book boat trips from there if you fancy it.
For a proper day out, the Peak District is on the doorstep. You can be in places like Bakewell or Ashbourne in well under half an hour. Kedleston Hall is about a fifteen minute drive. If you're after something bigger, Alton Towers is roughly 30 minutes away.
The lodge is pet friendly, up to two dogs. There's an enclosed garden area so they can't wander off. Parking is right outside.
