The Old Farmhouse

The Old Farmhouse is our place in Church Broughton. It's detached, sat on the edge of the village. The views from the back are over open fields, which is nice.

It sleeps seven people. There are four bedrooms. Three are upstairs and one is on the ground floor, which is handy. There's one bathroom, which is upstairs and has both a bath and a separate shower cubicle.

It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen is a good size with a table, and there's a utility room for coats and boots. The living room has doors out to the patio. We've put in a private hot tub outside, which looks out at the view.

You can walk straight out from the house into the lanes. The village itself is quiet. Ashbourne is about ten minutes' drive north. It's a proper market town with cobbled streets, some interesting shops and plenty of places for a coffee or a meal.

For a good walk, Dovedale is close by. The stepping stones are famous. It's run by the National Trust. Chatsworth House is about half an hour's drive if you like grand houses and gardens. Alton Towers is also within half an hour for a different kind of day out.

Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's parking on the drive. No pets, I'm afraid.

If you're looking for things to do, the Peak District National Park site is useful for planning.
