Sunshine Cottage
Sunshine Cottage is a converted barn on a non-working farm near Kirk Langley. It's at the end of a mile-long farm track, so it feels properly rural. You look out over four acres of land.
It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy. Some have big showers, others have a bath for two.
Downstairs is all open-plan. It's a big space, good for everyone being together. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights.
The garden has a lawn and a patio that gets the morning sun. There's a hot tub out there too. There's a large natural pond on the farm grounds. You can sit by it, or fish in it.
The farm has three other holiday cottages, but they're spaced out. You have your own place.
Derby is about four miles away for shops or a city day. For pubs, you're better off driving to the nearby villages. There are some good ones.
You're on the edge of the Peak District. Carsington Water is close by for walking, cycling, or water sports. Peak District National Park has all the information for that. Chatsworth House is about a twenty minute drive. So is Haddon Hall. Bakewell and Ashbourne are nice market towns to visit.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Plenty of parking right outside.
