The Pig Barn is on our farm just outside Kirk Langley. It's a converted pig barn, which is why it's got that name. We did it up a few years back. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both have their own bathrooms.
The setting is quite remote. You're at the end of a mile-long farm track, so you get proper quiet. The view from the back over the fields is the main thing. There's a patio out there with a hot tub to enjoy it from. There's a big pond on the farm you can sit by, and you're welcome to fish in it.
Inside, it's all on one level except for a small mezzanine lounge area. The main living space is open-plan. It's been done to a good standard, it's light and clean. Because it's all on one level and there are no steps at the entrance, it works well for wheelchair users or anyone who finds stairs difficult.
You can bring dogs. We allow up to three.
Location-wise, you're in the countryside but not far from things. Derby is about ten minutes' drive for shops or a cinema. For pubs, there's one in the village about a mile and a half away.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District. Carsington Water is close, good for walks and cycling. Chatsworth House is about half an hour's drive. So is Bakewell. For walkers, Dovedale and the Manifold Valley are within easy reach.
In terms of what's here, the listing covers most of it. Washing machine, WiFi, TV, bedding provided. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Plenty of parking right outside.
