The Old Haybarn

The Old Haybarn is outside Church Broughton. It's a detached lodge, not in the village centre but on the edge, so you've got fields around you.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms upstairs, two bathrooms - one shower room downstairs and a family bathroom upstairs with a bath. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.

Downstairs is all open plan. Kitchen, dining table, living area. The stairs are fine. Outside there's a private patio with a hot tub. You get good views.

In the village there's a shop and a pub. Both are decent. The pub does food.

You're well placed for driving into the Peak District. Ashbourne is about ten minutes south. It's a nice market town with proper shops and cafes. From there you can get to Dovedale easily. For walks, the Peak District National Park site is useful.

Alton Towers is about half an hour away if that's your sort of thing. Chatsworth House is maybe 40 minutes. Bakewell is a bit less.

Facilities: parking on site, wi-fi, washing machine, cot and highchair available. No pets.

If you're looking into local history or big days out, these are good: National Trust Peak District and Chatsworth House.
