The Barbon

The Barbon is in Wennington village, just over the border from North Yorkshire. It's a big, modern detached lodge, brand new really, built for groups. It sleeps ten.

You've got four bedrooms. Two of them are kingsize with their own shower rooms. There's a family room with those little cabin-style beds for kids, and a twin room. All the rooms have TVs. There are three bathrooms in total. The main one has a bath and a shower.

Downstairs is open plan. Big kitchen, a dining table that seats ten, and leather sofas facing the patio doors. The view is over fields, west-facing, so you get the sunsets. Outside there's a patio with a firepit and a private hot tub.

The lodge is 4 Star. Everything's included, bedding, towels, electricity. There's wifi and a smart TV. Parking for a few cars right outside.

Location wise, it's quiet here. There's a train station in the village if you need it. A couple of pubs in walking distance. For shops, Bentham is a few minutes down the road.

You're right on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. The Forest of Bowland website has walking routes. Ingleton and its waterfall walk are about 15 minutes' drive. Kirkby Lonsdale is 20 minutes. The Yorkshire Dales and the start of the Three Peaks walk are within half an hour. The Lake District, like Windermere, is also about 30 minutes away if you want to go that far. Morecambe and the coast are about the same.

A few practical things: it's a no-pets property. The garden is enclosed. There's a kids' play area on site shared with the other lodges.
