Cross House Cottage

Cross House Cottage is in Whittington village. It's a stone, two-up two-down cottage, sleeps four. We've just had it done up. It's got a four star rating now.

It's Grade II listed, so the walls are nice and thick. The stairs are steep, like most old cottages. There's one bathroom upstairs with a bath and a separate shower cubicle.

Downstairs, there's a kitchen with a table and a sitting room with a multi-fuel stove. The French doors open onto a patio with furniture, then there's a lawn. There's a little seating area under a pergola at the bottom of the garden, which is a nice spot.

You can park one car on the drive. There's also on-street parking. The facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, all the bedding and towels.

We accept one well-behaved dog.

Whittington is quiet. Kirkby Lonsdale is two miles away. It's a proper market town with good shops and places to eat. You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Yorkshire Dales National Park has all the walking information you need.

Ingleton and its waterfalls are about a 20 minute drive. The Lake District is maybe 30 minutes north, depending on traffic. Lake District National Park is the site for that. Lancaster is also about half an hour south if you want a city day.

The cottage can be booked with The Studio next door if you need space for six.
