Gable End Cottage is one of a terrace on the main road in Ingleton. It's got off-road parking for two cars, which is useful because on-street parking gets busy.
It's a 5 Star place. That means it's been checked for quality and it's well-equipped. It sleeps four in two double bedrooms. There's one bathroom upstairs with a shower over the bath.
The living area is all open plan downstairs. The back door opens onto a long, enclosed garden that gets the sun. It's a proper space for sitting out or for a dog. We do take one well-behaved dog.
The stairs are worth mentioning. They're open-tread and go up from the kitchen. They're a bit steep, like a lot of cottages round here. Just take care, especially if you've got little ones or anyone unsteady on their feet.
Ingleton itself is a good base. The Waterfalls Walk starts right in the village. It's a circular trail, about four miles, past a series of falls and gorges. You can get tickets from the information centre. Ingleborough is the big hill behind the village. It's one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
Within half an hour's drive you've got Settle and the railway, Hawes for the Wensleydale creamery, and Malham Cove. The Yorkshire Dales National Park website has good walking information. The southern Lake District, around Kendal, is also about thirty minutes away if the traffic's light.
In the village there are several pubs, a few shops, and an outdoor heated pool that's open in the summer months.
Facilities here include the garden, parking, WiFi, a smart TV, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are provided. There's a cycle store if you bring bikes.
