Goppa is a detached cottage in Llandanwg, just above Harlech in North Wales. It’s a 5 Star place, so it’s comfortable and well-equipped. It sleeps six in three bedrooms. Two bedrooms are downstairs, with a family bathroom. Upstairs is the main bedroom with its own en-suite. The stairs are typical cottage stairs, so they’re a bit steeper and narrower than you get in a modern house.
The main living space is open plan, with a kitchen, dining area, and a sitting area with a log burner. The TV and wi-fi work fine. There’s also a utility room with a washing machine.
Outside is an enclosed garden with a patio, a barbecue, and a hot tub. You can fit two cars on the drive, and there’s an electric vehicle charger.
The beach is about a ten-minute walk down the lane. It’s a good, quiet beach for sandcastles and paddling. For a bigger beach day, Black Rock Sands near Porthmadog is about twenty minutes in the car.
Harlech is just over a mile away. You’ve got a decent Co-op there for groceries, a few places to eat, and the castle. The Harlech Castle site has the details if you want to visit. The Royal St David's Golf Club is there too.
Portmeirion is about a fifteen-minute drive. It’s an unusual place to wander around. You need to book tickets online.
For walking, you’re right on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. The Rhinog mountains are closer and quieter than the main Snowdon peaks. Barmouth and its estuary are about twenty minutes south. For a day trip, you can get to the south end of the Llŷn Peninsula, like Abersoch, in just over half an hour.
The cottage takes up to two well-behaved dogs. Bedding and towels are included, and we provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
