Herdwick Barn

Herdwick Barn is on our farm in Ramshorn, Staffordshire. It's one of three barn conversions here, all made from the same sandstone. You're right on the edge of the Peak District.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. The bedroom is up on a mezzanine, so the stairs are open-tread and a bit steep, like a ladder. You need to be okay with that.

Downstairs is all open plan. Kitchen, table, sofa, TV. There's a shower room too. Outside the front is an enclosed courtyard with a table and chairs. It's a sunny spot.

The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and well-equipped. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.

You can walk straight from the door. There are footpaths across the fields. For longer routes, the Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail are close by, good for walking and cycling.

Ashbourne is about 15 minutes by car. It's a nice market town with shops and places to eat. Dovedale and the stepping stones are just beyond that.

Alton Towers is very close, maybe ten minutes drive. If you're here for that, it's convenient. Peak Wildlife Park is also nearby.

Facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, parking, bike storage. There's a local pub a short drive away.
