4 Dolphins is in Connel, just north of Oban. It's a ground floor apartment attached to a house, which we live in next door. The main thing is it's right on the water. You're about six feet from Loch Etive.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The living room is glass-fronted so you look straight out at the water. There's an enclosed sun deck with a table and chairs. You see seals and otters and birds out there all the time. The sound of the water is really the main feature.
It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, that sort of thing. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside.
Connel is small. There are three places to eat and a shop about a ten minute walk away. The Falls of Lora, which is this tidal race under the bridge, is a five minute walk. It's worth seeing. Dunstaffnage Castle and the Ocean Explorer Centre are a five minute drive.
Oban is about ten minutes south by car. That's where you get ferries to Mull and other islands. Plenty of shops and restaurants there, mostly geared towards seafood. Going north over the bridge, Benderloch has a beach and some woodland walks. Cycle Route 78 runs through there.
Further out, Glencoe and Fort William are about an hour's drive. Inveraray with its castle is maybe forty minutes.
The place takes one well-behaved dog. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
