Sealladh Alainn
This place is called Sealladh Alainn. It's pronounced 'Shal-ic Al-in', it's Gaelic for 'beautiful view'. It's up on Morvern Hill on the outskirts of Oban. The view is the main thing. You look right out over Oban Bay towards the Isle of Mull.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern inside, everything works, it's comfortable. It's semi-detached, so you've got neighbours on one side.
Outside, there's a deck. That's where you sit with a drink and watch the sun go down. There's parking on the drive.
The town centre of Oban is a short drive or a decent walk downhill. You've got all the shops, pubs, and restaurants there. The National Trust for Scotland's Oban visitor centre is worth a look for tips. The ferry terminal is there too, for trips to Mull. You can drive to the Isle of Seil or over the Connel Bridge to see the Falls of Lora easily.
If you fancy a proper beach day, you'll need to drive. There are a few within about half an hour. For history, Kilmartin Glen is about 45 minutes south. It's full of ancient standing stones and burial cairns.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's a stairgate at the top of the stairs. Sorry, no pets.
