Sealladh Alainn is a semi-detached cottage up on Morvern Hill, just outside Oban. The name means "beautiful view" in Gaelic, and that's the main thing. You look straight out over Oban Bay towards Mull.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's modern and well-kept. Everything works.
You're high up, so the view is the trade-off. The road up is steep. If you're not used to driving on Scottish single-track lanes, take your time. The parking is fine once you're there.
There's a decking area out the front. That's where you'll sit in the evening. You can watch the ferries chugging in and out of the bay.
Oban is about a mile downhill. You can see it from the house. It's a proper working harbour. There are plenty of places to eat and you can book boat trips from there to the isles.
For a beach, Ganavan Sands is good. It's about a ten-minute drive. If you don't mind the drive, Kilmartin Glen is fascinating for old stones and carvings. It's about 45 minutes south.
Facilities wise: it's got a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
