The Haven is my place on the edge of Oban bay. It's a detached lodge, so no neighbours on the other side of the wall. You get the views, which are good. You look straight out over the water to the islands.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The rating is 3 Star, which is about right. It's comfortable and clean. It's got everything you need, but it's not luxury. The shower is a walk-in one.
You've got three acres of land around the place to wander. It's quiet. The road to get here is single track for the last bit. There's a path from the property that leads you right into Oban if you fancy the walk. It's about two miles.
Oban itself is a proper working town. It's got the ferries, so there's always something going on. The shop and the nearest pub are about a mile and a half away, back towards town.
Right opposite the lodge is the Puffin Dive Centre. You can hire SUPs or sort out diving from there. For a swim, the nearest beach is about four miles.
The little passenger ferry to Kerrera island leaves from just down the road, a few minutes' walk. It's cheap and runs every hour. The island has a café, a castle, and some good walks. It's a nice way to spend an afternoon.
From Oban, you can get the car ferry to Mull. That's a full day out. You can go on to Iona or see Fingal's Cave on Staffa. Tobermory is up there too.
Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are all included. There's parking right there. You can bring one dog.
