Maggie's Cabin

Maggie's Cabin is near Oban, up a track in a quiet glen. It's a timber pod, detached, for just the two of you. It faces south so it gets the sun all day. You get your own enclosed bit of decking out the front.

It sleeps four but it's really best for a couple. There's one open-plan room with a double bed at one end and a sofa bed. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well insulated with underfloor heating, so it's warm.

The track it’s on is part of National Cycle Route 78. You can walk or cycle from the door. The view from the deck looks out over Glen Lonan.

Oban is about ten minutes drive away. It's a proper west coast town with a busy harbour. The ferries to Mull and the other islands leave from there. There are plenty of places to eat, especially if you like seafood.

Within half an hour you can be at Tralee Beach for a walk on the sand, or over the Connel Bridge to see the Falls of Lora. You can drive up to Glencoe in about 45 minutes if you want bigger mountains.

It comes with a welcome pack of local bits and pieces. There's parking right outside. The whole place is on one level with step-free access.

For planning trips, the National Trust for Scotland has info on local places like Inveraray Castle.
