This is Maggie's Cabin. It's my pod in a field a couple of miles outside Oban. The views are good, looking out over Glen Lonan. It's south-facing so you get the sun.
It's just the one room really, but it's cleverly done. There's a proper double bed in an alcove and a sofa bed, so it sleeps four at a push, but it's best for two. It has a 4 Star rating. Everything is on one level and the entrance is step-free.
There's underfloor heating so it's warm. I leave you some basics to get started: eggs from my hens, some rolls, a few other bits. There are bathrobes and slippers, and soap from the Highland Soap Company.
You've got your own enclosed decking area with a table and chairs. It's quiet out there, just fields and hills. Good for a drink in the evening.
Oban is about ten minutes' drive. It's a proper working town with ferries to the islands. Plenty of places to eat, especially if you like seafood. The Visit Scotland page for Oban is useful for planning.
You're on a quiet lane that's part of National Cycle Route 78. Good for walking or biking without driving anywhere. The beach at Tralee is about a twenty minute drive north, past the Connel Bridge.
For days out, you're well placed. You can get the ferry to Mull easily from Oban. The National Trust for Scotland has a few places like Inverewe Garden within an hour or so.
Facilities: There's WiFi, a smart TV, and parking right next to the pod. The garden is enclosed. No pets, I'm afraid.
