Puffin - Bach
This is Puffin Bach, near Oban. It's a detached house, so no neighbours on the other side of the wall. It faces a boatyard and looks out across the water to the island of Kerrera.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable but not luxurious. The living area is open plan with doors to a private balcony. You can sit out there.
It's a quiet spot but you're only two miles from Oban town centre. Oban's the main ferry port for the islands. The house is right opposite the Puffin Dive Centre. You can book scuba or paddle boarding lessons on site. There's a bit of beach here for getting kayaks in, or a bigger public beach a few miles up the road.
About 300 yards down the lane there's a small passenger ferry that goes over to Kerrera. It's cheap and runs every hour. The island has a cafe, a castle, and good walks. You can actually walk from the house to Oban along an old path, if you don't fancy driving.
From Oban, you can get car ferries to Mull. That's a solid day out. You can go on to Iona or see Fingal's Cave on Staffa. Tobermory is on Mull too.
Facilities: It's got parking, WiFi, a TV, and bedding is included. You can bring one dog. There's storage for bikes if you have them.
