Captain's Folly is a first-floor apartment in Oban. The location is the main thing. It’s right on the bay, so the views are really good. You’re about ten yards from the water.
It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s comfortable and well looked after. It’s in a Victorian building, so the ceilings are high and the rooms feel spacious. It faces west, so you get the sun in the afternoon and evening.
You can hear the ferries from the CalMac terminal chugging in and out. It’s not loud, but you’ll know they're there. The stairs up to the flat are the original ones, so they’re a bit steeper than modern stairs.
There are shops and pubs literally 20 seconds away. Oban’s got plenty of places to eat, lots of them do seafood. Ganavan beach is a couple of miles up the coast if you want sand.
From the door, you can walk up to McCaig's Tower or follow the coast path. The main reason to be here is for the islands. You can get the ferry from the terminal to Mull, or go on one of the boat trips to see wildlife. You’re right in the middle of it.
In the flat there’s a washing machine, a dishwasher, a TV, and WiFi. Parking is on site. Bedding and towels are provided. No pets.
