Shackleton

This is Shackleton, a house in Bransgore. It's on the edge of the New Forest, so you'll often see the ponies wandering past the garden fence.

It sleeps ten people in five bedrooms, which is why we get a lot of big family groups. Four bathrooms, three of them en-suite, so nobody's queuing in the morning. It's got a 5 Star rating. They've been through it all, so it's clean and everything works.

The garden is enclosed, which is good for dogs and kids. There's parking for several cars on the drive. Inside, the kitchen is new and has a dishwasher. There's a utility room with a washing machine. The living room has a wood burner, which is nice in the winter. We provide the wood.

Bransgore village is a five-minute walk. There's a shop for basics and a couple of pubs. You can walk straight out from the house onto the forest tracks.

Christchurch is about ten minutes by car. The quay there is good for crabbing. The beach at Mudeford is a bit further, maybe fifteen minutes. You get the little ferry over to the sandbank.

For days out, New Forest National Park has all the walking and cycling routes. National Trust New Forest pages are useful too. Beaulieu Motor Museum is twenty minutes away. If you've got children, Paultons Park with Peppa Pig World is half an hour's drive.

We allow two well-behaved dogs. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot and highchair in for you if you need them.
