The Otter is in Christchurch. It's just the one place, a cottage for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got the 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. We just cleaned it up and got it ready.
The main thing is the spot. You're tucked in on a quiet lane but you can walk into Christchurch centre in five minutes. The priory is there if you like that sort of thing. There are two rivers and you can wander along the quay, get something to eat, or catch the little ferry across the harbour to Mudeford.
Mudeford is good if you're into the water. Sailing, kayaking, that sort of thing. Or just a walk along the front. The beach at Mudeford is about three miles away, so a short drive or a decent walk.
You're close to the New Forest. It's about a 20 minute drive to get into it properly, where the ponies are. Good for walking or cycling.
The Jurassic Coast is the other way. Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Old Harry Rocks. All that. You'd want to drive, but it's all within half an hour or so.
As for the cottage itself, it's all on one level which makes it easier. There's a step up to the front door but it's not much. You get a parking space right outside. The living area looks out over the river, which is nice. It's got what you'd expect, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, all the bedding and towels. It's set up so you can just arrive.
If you want to look into things beforehand, the New Forest National Park Authority site is good for maps, and the Jurassic Coast Trust one has information on the coast.
