Smugglers Cottage is in Barton on Sea. It's a detached thatched place, about a ten minute walk to the cliff top and the coast path. The garden is enclosed, which families tend to like.
It sleeps five. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. One's got a shower cubicle, the other has a bath. The stairs are steep and twist a bit. It's an old cottage, that's just how they are.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a dining room, and a conservatory that looks out onto the garden. There's also a separate snug with a single sofa bed in it.
You're right on the edge of the New Forest. You can walk straight out onto heathland. For organised walks or cycle routes, the New Forest National Park Authority site is useful. The beach at Barton is shingle. Mudeford Spit and Highcliffe Beach are a short drive along the coast.
Christchurch Harbour is about ten minutes by car. Bournemouth is twenty minutes. If you want a longer day out, the National Trust has several places along the Purbeck coast, like Studland, which is roughly half an hour away.
The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are all included. There's parking on site. You can bring up to two dogs.
