Ferndale

Ferndale is a bungalow in Ashley. It's on the edge of the New Forest, about ten minutes from the coast. It’s detached and you get the whole garden to yourselves. It’s paved mostly, with some grass, and there’s a patio with furniture.

It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. That’s useful if you’ve got a couple of families sharing. It’s got a 5 Star rating which means it’s well-equipped and finished to a good standard.

The main space is open plan. Kitchen, dining area, and living room all in one. There’s a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. The kitchen has a dishwasher and there’s a washing machine in a utility room.

You can bring one dog. The garden is enclosed. There’s parking for two cars on the gravel drive.

Ashley is quiet. You’re a short drive from New Milton for shops. The nearest proper beach is Barton-on-Sea, about a ten minute drive. It’s shingle, with beach huts. You can walk the coastal path from there.

You’re right on the edge of the New Forest. You can walk straight out onto the heath from the village. For horse riding, there are local stables that do hacking in the Forest. For a sandy beach, Lepe is about twenty minutes’ drive.

If you want a day out, Lymington is a fifteen minute drive. They have a Saturday market and you can get the ferry to the Isle of Wight. Beaulieu Motor Museum is about twenty five minutes away. For something bigger, Paultons Park is about half an hour.
