The Farmhouse, Ley Farm

The Farmhouse is on Ley Farm, near Stockland. It's a detached stone place, early 19th century. It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps with a full house.

It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen has a four-door Aga. It works, but it takes a bit of getting used to if you haven't used one before. The living room has a wood burner in a big inglenook fireplace. There's a Smart TV in there too.

Three of the bedrooms have superking beds that can be split into twins if you ask beforehand. The gardens are large, with a patio and a covered terrace. You're next to a small, family-run working farm, so you'll see sheep and hear the occasional tractor. That's just the setting.

There's a separate games room you share with the other cottage here. It's got pool, table football, and a home cinema setup. There's also a guest laundry room with an outdoor dog shower, handy for muddy boots or pets.

The local pub is about a 10-minute walk. It's dog-friendly and does food. For coast, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Beer are all about half an hour's drive. Dartmoor is about an hour away. Exeter and Taunton are within 45 minutes if you need a bigger town.

Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, on-site parking. There's an electric vehicle charger too. You can bring up to four dogs.
