This is Barnstable, a cottage in Shannochie on Arran. It's detached, set up from the road so the sea views from the front are good and clear. You can see right across to the Ayrshire coast.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One double bedroom is on the ground floor. Upstairs there are two twin rooms. The stairs are standard cottage stairs, so they turn a corner and are a bit steep. There's a sunroom at the front which is the best spot for the view.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well-finished and comfortable. The facilities list covers most things: washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a woodburning stove. Up to two dogs are allowed.
You're right on the coast path here. For a walk, the path towards Kildonan is straightforward. The village shop and post office in Lagg is about two miles up the road. The pub there, the Lagg Hotel, does meals.
For a bigger day out, you can drive to Brodick in about twenty minutes. That's where the ferry comes in, and you've got Brodick Castle there. Lamlash is the other way, about fifteen minutes. The Holy Isle ferry goes from there sometimes, but you'd need to check the times.
If you're planning walks or want more information on the island, the Visit Arran site is useful, as is the Northwest Isles page for trips to Holy Isle.
