The Old Byre is on the A68, up at Kiln Pit Hill. It's a converted stone barn, so it's detached. You get the whole place and the garden to yourselves. It's all on one level, which is handy. There's a step up into the lounge from the hallway, just so you know.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's done to a high standard. Everything's new. The bed is a super king that can be split into two singles if you need it. The bathroom is big, with both a bath and a large shower.
There's a hot tub in the private garden. It's not overlooked. We leave you a welcome pack with a cake, a bottle of wine, and some tea and coffee to get you started.
You're right on the edge of the North Pennines here. It's quiet. For a walk or a cycle, Derwent Reservoir is about a ten minute drive. There's a country pub roughly a mile away, and more options in Corbridge or Hexham, which are about a fifteen minute drive.
Corbridge is a nice little town with shops and cafes. Hexham has the abbey and a market. If you head the other way, you're quickly into Newcastle. For a day out, Hadrian's Wall is close by. The Kielder Water & Forest Park is further out but good for walking and the dark sky observatory.
Facilities: it has a washing machine and tumble dryer in a utility room, WiFi, parking right outside, and a dishwasher. No pets, sorry. Everything's included.
