This is the Family Retreat in Grassington. It's an apartment for six people, set above a coffee shop in the market square.
You've got three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 4 Star place, so it's been done up recently and it's comfortable. Everything's clean and works.
The kitchen is new and open-plan, leading into the living area. There are two small steps between them. One of the bedrooms has its own ensuite. The third bedroom is up on a mezzanine level, it's a cosy space. The stairs in the property are a mix. Some are steep, some are narrow. There's a stairgate provided.
Outside, there's a courtyard. It's shared with the coffee shop during their busy hours, between half eleven and half three in the afternoon. Outside of those times, you have it to yourselves.
You're right in the middle of Grassington. The square has shops, tea rooms, and pubs that do food. The coffee shop downstairs does breakfasts and afternoon teas, but you need to book. The village has events through the year, like a summer festival and Christmas market. They also filmed the recent 'All Creatures Great and Small' series here.
For walks, you're in the Yorkshire Dales. You can walk straight out from the door. Kettlewell, Buckden, and Linton are nice nearby villages to visit. Yorkshire Dales National Park has all the walking information.
Skipton is about ten miles away. It's got a castle, a market, and you can go on the canal there. Bolton Abbey is close by, and you can drive to the Settle-Carlisle railway to see the viaduct. Harrogate and York are further out, but you can get to them within an hour or so.
Facilities include a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome, but there's an extra charge for that.
