Greenwell Terrace is in Frosterley, up Weardale. It's a standard Victorian terraced cottage, one in a row. You're high up here, so the views from the back are across the fields.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and warm. The stairs are typical for these houses: a bit steep and narrow.
The living room and dining area are open plan. The kitchen is separate, through a doorway. It has everything you need. There's a wood burning stove in the living room. We leave some logs to get you started.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden at the back with a patio. It's a proper sun trap in the afternoon. You can see right down the valley.
Frosterley has a couple of pubs that do food. The shop in the village is small but well-stocked for basics. For a bigger supermarket, you'd drive to Stanhope or Wolsingham.
You're right on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The walking is right from the door. The River Wear is good for fishing if you have a licence. The Waskerley Way, the old railway line, is great for a flat walk or a bike ride.
Within about half an hour you can get to Durham. The cathedral and the castle are a World Heritage Site. Barnard Castle is about 25 minutes drive. High Force waterfall is also within that range.
The facilities are what you'd expect: wifi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
