Mill Stone Cottage is on Front Street in Wolsingham. It's a mid-terrace stone cottage, so the walls are thick and it's quiet inside. You can walk to everything from here.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one twin. There's one bathroom with a bath and shower over it. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are steep and the doorways are low in places, because it's an old building. You have to mind your head.
The living room has a multi-fuel stove. We leave some fuel to get you started. There's a small patio garden out the back with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
Wolsingham has a couple of pubs that do food, a few cafes, and a small co-op shop about five minutes' walk away. It's right in the North Pennines, so you can start walking from the front door. The Weardale Railway runs through the village too.
Within half an hour you can be in Durham city. The cathedral is worth seeing. Stanhope is about fifteen minutes up the dale. For a big day out, High Force waterfall is about forty minutes away by car. The North Pennines AONB site has good walking routes. The National Trust has places like Gibside nearby.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for one car around the back. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
