Raby Cottage

Raby Cottage is one of four cottages we have here on site. It's semi-detached and sleeps six in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

The cottage looks out over our land. You get your own patio with a table and chairs. There's a shared lawn area too.

Inside, it's open plan downstairs with a kitchen, dining area, and living space. There's a wood burning stove. Upstairs, the bedrooms are a decent size. The stairs are standard, not a spiral or anything.

Being here, you have access to the on-site facilities. There's a heated indoor swimming pool you can book slots for, a games room with a full-size snooker table, and a shared hot tub. There's also a fishing lake. All that is shared between the guests from the four cottages.

We're about a mile from Wolsingham village. There's a shop and a couple of pubs there, about two miles from the cottage.

For getting out, you can walk straight from the property onto footpaths. Tunstall Reservoir and Hamsterley Forest are very close for walking and cycling. The Forestry England page for Hamsterley has trail maps.

Within a 30 minute drive you've got a few options. Beamish Museum is great, especially with kids. Durham city is about half an hour away. The cathedral and castle are a UNESCO World Heritage site. For a big waterfall, High Force is up in Teesdale, which is a very scenic drive.

We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. Things like bed linen, towels, a cot, and a highchair are included. There's parking right outside the cottage.

If you're looking for walk ideas, the Durham County Council walking page is useful, as is the North Pennines AONB website.
