The Gingang is in Frosterley, right by the River Wear. It’s a converted barn, stables and byre all joined together in a courtyard. You’ll be sharing the larger grounds and gardens with the other holiday lets here, but your patio area is private.
It sleeps ten, which is a lot. Five bedrooms and three bathrooms, so you shouldn’t get queues. It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s comfortable and well-equipped. There’s a games room and a play area on site, which is handy if the weather turns.
Frosterley village has a shop and a couple of pubs. They’re a short walk away. The walking from the door is very good. You’re right in the Durham Dales, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s proper countryside. For a longer drive, Barnard Castle is about 20 minutes. The Bowes Museum there is worth a look. Durham city centre is about half an hour.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. There’s parking right outside. All the bedding and towels are included. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's WiFi, but it’s a rural location so it’s functional, not super fast.
