The Gingang
The Gingang is in Frosterley, which is in Weardale. It's made up of a few old farm buildings that have been converted, all around a shared courtyard. They're next to each other, so good if you're a big group, but you've got your own front door.
It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms and three bathrooms, so it works for families or friends. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after.
The main thing is the setting. It looks out over the River Wear and the fields. It's quiet. You get your own patio, and there are shared grounds with a play area and a games room for kids. The games room has a pool table and table tennis.
Frosterley village has a couple of shops and pubs. You can walk straight from the door. Weardale is good walking country. It's part of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
If you want to drive out, Barnard Castle is about 20 minutes. The Bowes Museum is there. Raby Castle is also close. Durham city is about a 40 minute drive, which is easy for a day trip.
For facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one dog.
