Bridge End Farm is a bungalow on the edge of Frosterley, in Weardale. It's detached so you're on your own, with a garden and patio. The views from up there are good, you can see the village and the river.
It sleeps six, has three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's been modernised so it's not old-fashioned inside. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and everything works. Being a bungalow, there are no stairs, which is useful.
It's very quiet. You're in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The pub is a few minutes' walk down the lane, it's a proper local. The village shop is about five minutes away if you need basics.
For walks, you can just step out the door. The Weardale Way passes through. There's good cycling, and you're not far from the Pennine Way. Fishing is available on the River Wear. High Force waterfall is about a 20 minute drive, it's impressive. North Pennines AONB has more details.
Durham is about 40 minutes by car. The cathedral is worth a visit. Hexham and its abbey are in the other direction, maybe 45 minutes. For a bigger day out, you can get to the edge of the Lake District in just over an hour.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there. No pets, sorry.
