Heartwell Cottage

Heartwell Cottage is one of four cottages here at Bowlees, just outside Wolsingham. It's a semi-detached place. You get your own garden with it.

It sleeps a lot of people, up to fifteen. There are six bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's well equipped and comfortable. The place is quite big inside. One of the ground floor bedrooms is in a round room that was part of the old farm buildings. The stairs are normal.

Being part of a small group of cottages means you get to use the shared facilities. There's a decent games room with a full-size snooker table. There's a heated indoor swimming pool and a shared hot tub. You're also welcome to fish in the lake. The owners' land is about 60 acres, so you can walk straight out from the cottage.

The nearest shop and pub are about two miles away in Wolsingham village. It's a nice place for a pint.

If you want to get out, you're right on the edge of the Durham Dales. Tunstall Reservoir and Hamsterley Forest are very close for walks or cycling. For a day out, Beamish Museum is great, especially with kids. High Force waterfall is about a 30 minute drive. Durham city is also about half an hour away, you can see the cathedral and castle. For longer trips, the Northumberland coast or the North Pennines are within reach.

As for the cottage itself, it has the things you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, wifi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if required. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
