Heartwell Cottage Wolsingham

Heartwell Cottage is one of three cottages and a farmhouse here at Bowlees, just outside Wolsingham. It's semi-detached, sleeps fifteen, and has six bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's well equipped and comfortable.

The property is part of a larger site with shared facilities. There's a heated indoor swimming pool, a games room with a full-size snooker table, a shared hot tub, and a fishing lake you can use. The grounds are about 60 acres, so there's plenty of space.

You're right on the edge of the Durham Dales. There are footpaths and cycle tracks that start from the grounds themselves, going straight into the woods and fields. Hamsterley Forest is very close for walking or mountain biking. Tunstall Reservoir is nearby too.

For a day out, Beamish Museum is brilliant, and it's less than half an hour's drive. The city of Durham is also about 30 minutes away. It's a World Heritage Site, so the cathedral and castle are worth seeing.

Up in the North Pennines, you've got High Force waterfall, which is a proper spectacle. The North East coast, Hadrian's Wall, and even the edge of the Lake District are all within an hour or so if you fancy a longer drive.

As for the cottage itself, it's got everything you'd expect: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. The garden is enclosed. You can bring up to two dogs.

The nearest shop and pub are in Wolsingham, which is about two miles away.
