The Stables
The Stables is a house in Green Head, just outside Stanhope in the Durham Dales. It's detached. You can see fields for miles from the front.
It sleeps seven, across three bedrooms. Two bathrooms. One is a wet room on the ground floor, which is helpful if steps are tricky. It's got a 5 Star rating. It was finished in 2022 so everything feels new.
The main room has big windows looking out over the view. There's a leather sofa facing them and an egg chair hanging from the ceiling. The kitchen is large and everything works. You can get supermarket deliveries here.
Outside, there's a decent sized garden with different spots to sit. There's a fountain. There's a play area for kids. The hot tub is in a smaller courtyard and costs an extra ten pounds per night for your booking.
Stanhope village is about a mile away. It's a straightforward walk or a quick drive. It has pubs, shops, takeaways, the usual things.
Two horses and a few pets live on the property grounds, but separately. Your dogs are welcome, up to two.
For local walks and days out, the North Pennines AONB site is useful. Raby Castle is about a 25 minute drive. Barnard Castle is a bit further, maybe 35 minutes. The Weardale Railway starts in Stanhope.
The facilities list is thorough. It has a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, an electric vehicle charger, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
