Chapel Cottage

Chapel Cottage is on a quiet street in Stanhope. It's a stone cottage, sleeps four, two bedrooms. It's got two bathrooms as well, which is handy.

The rating is 4 Star. It was refurbished this year, so everything's in good order. The kitchen is new, the shower room is new.

The main bedroom has a circular bathtub in it, and a private sauna. That's the unusual bit. The second bedroom is a bunk room, but the bunks are large.

You get a sitting area out the back, and a bit of garden. It's peaceful.

Stanhope's a proper working village. There are three pubs, a good bakery, cafes. They have a weekly market. The famous thing is the fossil tree in the churchyard, it's very old.

For walking, you're right in the Durham Dales. The River Wear runs through the village. You can drive to the North Pennines AONB in about twenty minutes. High Force waterfall is about a half hour drive.

Facilities: wifi, TV with Netflix and Sky, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot if you need one.
