Rydal House is over in Point Clear on the Essex coast. It's a detached house. It sleeps twelve people, in six bedrooms. It has four bathrooms, which makes a big difference with that many people. The rating is 5 Star, so it's well-equipped and maintained.
The house is bright and spacious inside. Some of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, and those have doors straight out to the garden, which is handy. The upstairs bedrooms have balconies looking out to sea. You can sit out there with a coffee.
The living room is also upstairs, to make the most of the view. There's a wood burner for colder days. The kitchen is a good size for cooking for a group.
Outside, there's a large garden with lawn. It has a play area for kids, and a patio with a hot tub. The big thing is that the garden leads directly onto a quiet, sandy beach. You don't have to drive anywhere, you just walk down.
You can bring two dogs.
Point Clear itself is quiet. St Osyth is close by for a pub or shop. If you want watersports, The Curve is nearby for paddleboarding and that sort of thing. St Osyth Priory is there too.
Clacton and Walton-on-the-Naze are about fifteen minutes by car. They have the traditional seaside things: amusements, arcades, shops. Clacton has a shopping village.
Colchester is roughly half an hour away. You've got Colchester Zoo, the castle, and plenty of shops and restaurants. If you really want a change, you can get a train from Thorpe-le-Soken into London in under an hour.
There's a spa nearby, and a few local golf courses within a short drive.
In terms of what's here: bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot, highchair, and stairgate. There's parking on site. The house is wheelchair accessible at the entrance, and the ground floor facilities help with mobility.
