North Farm Lodge
North Farm Lodge is on Mersea Island. You have to drive across a causeway to get here. It's only covered at high tide, so you have to plan your journeys around that. The road floods twice a day. It's fine, you just check the times.
The lodge is detached, sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating because it's pretty new and everything works well. It's open plan with high ceilings.
You're really just outside East Mersea village. The local beaches are sandy and shingle, and they're quiet. You can often have them to yourself. It's good for walking straight from the door. The Mersea oyster beds are a few minutes walk away if you want to try that.
The nearest pub is about a mile and a half. A supermarket is three miles away in West Mersea. Colchester is nine miles away for bigger shops, the castle, and the zoo.
For days out, Dedham Vale and Constable Country are within about half an hour's drive.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside and your own garden area. No pets.
