This is Appletree Cottage, near Point Clear in Essex. It's a single-storey place, a bungalow, so everything is on the ground floor. It sleeps six, which is two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is a wet room. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The cottage is part of a group of old farm buildings around a courtyard, but it's private. You've got your own patio and garden area. The place looks out over fields, there's about three acres of land here so it feels quite open.
It's straightforward inside. There's a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog.
There's a shop about a ten minute walk away. The nearest pub is a couple of miles, so you'd drive. The coast is accessible, it's a short drive down to the water around here. For a proper beach day, Frinton or Clacton are close. Brightlingsea is nice too.
Colchester is about twenty minutes by car. They've got the castle, the zoo, and all the shops you'd need. If you're into walking, it's flat country, good for birdwatching. You can walk down to the creek from here.
Further out, within about half an hour, you've got places like Dedham Vale, which is Constable country. Wivenhoe and Mersea Island are worth a visit. Ipswich and Chelmsford are both within a thirty minute drive if you want a bigger town.
