Appletree Cottage is down in Point Clear, Essex. It's a bungalow so everything's on one level, which is worth knowing.
It sleeps six but there are only two bedrooms. One has a double bed, the other has four singles in a sort of bunk set up. So it's good for kids. Two bathrooms though, which helps. One is a wet room.
The place is part of an old farm that's been converted. There are a few cottages around a courtyard, but you've got your own space. Your bit of garden is private. It's on 3 acres of land, so there are fields out the back. You'll see rabbits and hear birds.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well equipped and comfortable. There's a washing machine, TV, WiFi, all the basics. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
Location wise, it’s quite rural. The nearest shop is about a ten minute walk. The local pub is a couple of miles away, so you’d drive. The coast is right there though. You can walk down to the creek from the property.
If you want to go out, Brightlingsea and Mersea Island are about 15 minutes by car. Good for seafood. Clacton-on-Sea is 20 minutes for the pier and that sort of thing. Colchester is half an hour away. They've got the castle and a good high street.
