The Boat House At Tides Reach
The Boat House is in West Mersea, about 400 feet from the beach. It's a modern building, not old. It sleeps four.
Downstairs is the main bedroom with a wet room shower. It's all on one level so you can get in and move around easily if you need that. Upstairs is a second bedroom with two single beds and a family bathroom. The stairs are fine. There's a travel cot and a highchair here if you need them.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and in good order. There's a dishwasher, wifi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs.
The place is light. It has plantation shutters and Velux windows with blackout blinds.
You can walk to the beach in a couple of minutes. There's a small shop, a bar that does food, and two beach cafes about five minutes away. The main village with butchers, a bakery, and supermarkets is just over a mile up the road.
Mersea is known for seafood. There are pubs and restaurants around. For a walk, Cudmore Grove Country Park at East Mersea is good. It's open space by the water.
Colchester is about twenty minutes by car if you want a town or a castle. Maldon is about the same distance the other way, with the Thames barges.
