Longridge
Longridge is in Peldon, Essex. It's a detached house, so no neighbours attached. We finished the renovation in 2023. It's a five star place, which means everything's new and works properly.
It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. Two of those are downstairs, which is handy. There are two bathrooms, one with a bath and one with a walk-in shower upstairs.
The living room has big doors that open onto the garden. The view is just open fields. The kitchen has a dining table for everyone and one of those Nespresso machines. Outside there's a patio, a decent sized lawn, and a hot tub.
You can bring one dog. The garden is enclosed and there are good walks from the door.
Peldon itself has a pub. The proper shops are a short drive away. Mersea Island is about six minutes by car. It's unique because it sometimes gets cut off by the tide for an hour, but that's part of the character. You can check tide times online. It's got seafood places, a vineyard, and nice coastal paths.
Colchester is twenty minutes away if you need bigger shops, restaurants, or want to see the castle. Colchester Castle is English Heritage. Colchester Zoo is a big day out, but it's further into town.
If you want the seaside with amusements, places like Clacton are about forty minutes drive. The coast here is three miles away.
Facilities include all the basics: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive.
