Baytree Cottage 2
Baytree Cottage is number 2 of a pair. They're ours, they're next to our house. We built them as holiday lets so they're not an old conversion, everything is meant for guests.
It sleeps four but it's one bedroom. The double bed is upstairs, and there's a sofa bed downstairs. So it suits a couple, or a couple with a couple of kids. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and warm, not a luxury hotel.
It's open plan downstairs. There's a wood burning stove which is nice in the colder months. The garden is yours, it's enclosed. Parking is right outside.
The pub is about 300 yards down the lane. They do food and real ales. The nearest shop is in Tiptree, about four miles away.
You're in the countryside here. Mersea Island is about eight miles for the beaches and seafood. Colchester is the same sort of distance the other way. It's got the castle, the zoo, and the train to London if you need it.
Within half an hour you can get to places like Flatford Mill, or the old wool towns like Lavenham. For local walks and nature reserves, the Essex Wildlife Trust sites are good. If you're heading towards the coast, the National Trust has a few properties nearby.
Facilities are what you'd expect: Wifi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot out if you need one. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
