This is Shepherds Belle and Croft Hut, in Messing. It's glamping, so it's a proper tent and a little wooden hut on the same site, both just for you.
You sleep in the belle tent. It's big, with a double bed and solar lights. The roof has a clear panel so you can see the sky from bed. The style is colourful and bohemian.
The separate Croft hut is your utility room. It's got a shower, a cool box, and a sink. There's an outdoor tap on the back for washing up. You cook outside on a wood-fired stove or a gas BBQ with a pizza stone.
It's in a private meadow with long grass and wildflowers. You can also book the Ryeland Hut on the same site if you're coming with friends. It's about 40 metres away and screened for privacy.
It's quiet here, but you're not far from things. There's a local pub a short drive away. Chelmsford is about 20 minutes and Colchester is about 15. Colchester Zoo is a big draw for a lot of people.
For a day out, Bourne Mill is nearby. It's a National Trust property with a working waterwheel and a millpond.
Facilities are as you'd expect for glamping. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on site.
