The Ryeland Hut is in Messing, Essex. It's a glamping hut for two, set in a meadow.
It's one of two huts on the farm. They're quite far apart, so it feels private. You could book both if you're coming with friends and want your own space.
The hut is wood-clad and self-contained. Inside, there's a double bed, a small kitchen area, and an en-suite shower. It has a wood burner for cooler nights. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there.
Outside, you've got your own bit of garden with a picnic table and a BBQ. The meadow is left to grow, with paths mown through it.
The farm has some animals: horses, ponies, some pet sheep - one is a Ryeland, hence the name - and chickens. There's also a small farm shop selling bits like jams and snacks.
A footpath leads off the farm. You can walk to Messing village, which has a pub that does good food. Tiptree is also within walking distance.
For a day out, Bourne Mill is nearby. Colchester Zoo is about a 20-minute drive. The Essex coast, like Mersea Island, is roughly half an hour away.
It’s glamping, so it’s more comfortable than a tent, but it's still a single-space wooden hut. The walls aren't thick. You'll hear the weather and the animals.
