Easthorpe Retreat
Easthorpe Retreat is a log cabin in Easthorpe, about seven miles from Colchester. It’s in our garden, but it's private. There's a small enclosed courtyard for you, and you have your own hot tub.
It’s for two people. One bedroom, one shower room. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The kitchen is compact but it has what you need. We leave some toiletries for you.
The village is quiet. The local pub is half a mile away, it does food. The nearest shop is two miles, in Coggeshall.
If you like walking, Abberton Reservoir is very close. It’s a huge lake with a nature reserve path. There are bird hides. Essex Wildlife Trust has details.
Colchester is about fifteen minutes by car. It's a proper town with a castle and shops. The castle is the big Norman one. English Heritage page is here.
Other places nearby: Tiptree for the jam factory and a good tea room. Layer Marney Tower is a Tudor gatehouse you can climb. Mersea Island is about half an hour’s drive for seafood, especially oysters.
Facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
