Easthorpe Retreat
Easthorpe Retreat is a log cabin in our back garden. It's for two people. You get the courtyard garden and the hot tub to yourselves, and it's quite private even though we're nearby.
It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. There's one bedroom, which is large, and a shower room. The kitchen is small but it has what you need. The sitting area is open plan.
The village is quiet. There's a pub and a restaurant about half a mile away. The shop is two miles, in the next village.
It's a good spot for the Essex countryside. Abberton Reservoir is close by if you like walking and birdwatching. Colchester is about seven miles. It's a proper old town with a castle and good shops. You can visit Colchester Castle.
If you drive, you can get to Layer Marney Tower in about ten minutes. The view from the top is good. Mersea Island is about half an hour away, for seafood and seeing the coast.
What's here: parking, WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. No pets.
