Hill Farm

Hill Farm is a detached cottage near the edge of Wenhaston village. It's quiet here. The garden is big and a bit wild, with two large ponds. One is a wildlife pond. The hedges mean it's not completely secure, so you'd need to keep an eye on a dog or small children.

The place sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well done. There are beams, and some are low, so mind your head. There are also a couple of internal steps and the floor slopes a bit on the landing and in the single bedroom. You get robes and slippers, which is a nice touch.

For facilities, it has the main things: wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and parking for several cars. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. We leave out a towel, blanket, bowls and such for them.

There are two pubs you can walk to in the village. The shop in Halesworth is about three miles away for a bigger shop.

You're well placed for the coast. Southwold and Walberswick are about a 15-minute drive. Aldeburgh is maybe 25 minutes. Good for beaches, crabbing, or just wandering. For walking, there are local footpaths from the door and the Suffolk Coast & Heaths area is close. RSPB Minsmere is great for birdwatching and is a 20-minute drive.

Further afield, within about half an hour, you've got Dunwich, Framlingham Castle, and the town of Bungay. The nearest golf is at Halesworth.
