Stable End is in Halesworth. It's a cottage made from converted stables next to our house. The house is old, Georgian. The stables are Grade II listed, which is why we had to keep certain things when we did it up.
It sleeps five, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and has everything you need, but it's not a show home. It's a cottage.
The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, typical for an old building. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. Speaking of which, you can bring up to three pets. There's a wood burner for winter. It gets the evening sun on the patio.
You're on the edge of the town. The town centre, with a shop and a pub, is about half a mile away. It's a walking distance. Halesworth has a cinema and a sort of arts scene.
For the coast, Southwold is eight miles away. That's the sandy beach. Walberswick is good for crabbing. Dunwich Heath and Aldeburgh are both within a 30 minute drive.
If you like birdwatching, RSPB Minsmere is very close. For music, Snape Maltings is about ten miles. You can drive into the Norfolk Broads in under an hour.
For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding is included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. We've also put in an electric vehicle charger.
