This is the Old Corn Mill. It's one of three barns we converted on the farm here in Walpole, Suffolk. We live on site. The barns are in the middle of about 80 acres of our beef farm fields.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which people seem to like. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not overly fussy.
Because it's an old building, the ceilings are high in the main living area. The stairs to the first-floor bedrooms are a proper farmhouse staircase, so they're quite steep and turn a corner.
You share some facilities with the other two barns if they're occupied. There's a heated indoor swimming pool you can book privately. It's open from Easter to September. There's also a big games room with an artificial turf floor for football or just letting off steam.
We put up Christmas decorations in the barns during the festive season, just so you know.
The village of Walpole is quiet. The nearest shop is about three miles away in Halesworth. There's a pub serving food two and a half miles away.
You're about a 20-25 minute drive from the coast. Southwold is that way, with its pier and beach huts. Aldeburgh is a bit further south. For a walk, the RSPB reserve at Minsmere is about half an hour away, or you can explore the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area.
In terms of what's here, it's all listed. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. The bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. The garden is enclosed. You can bring one dog.
If you're coming with a bigger group, you can book the Old Corn Mill together with the other two barns. Between them they sleep 16.
